BUILDING A MARBLE CLOCK THAT SHOWS SECONDS - Pt3.
Check out PCBWay here: www.pcbway.com/?from=Ivan for a trusted one-stop solution to 3D Printing Services, CNC Machining, Injection Moulding and more!
I got hundreds of comments on my last video encouraging me to build a sorting machine to sort the marbles of my marble clock. Fair enough, I built one. Now the question is, should I put this in the clock to sort the marbles while the clock is working or should I make a different sorter for the clock. This one is super loud, which seems to be on brand with my clock designs, and seems fast enough to be used with the clock in realtime. I would obviously polish the design to make it nicer but you tell me. What should I do?

Wouldn't it make sense to apply this sort of selector to the hour/minute clock, too? Instead of loading random marbles into the elevator and filtering at the top, make it load the correct color at the bottom. That way, the elevator wouldn't need to run as fast, and you don't have to transport the wrong marbles down into the bucket again, both of which should help reduce the noise level of the clock. Also, would it be possible to only have new marbles come down when it is actually necessary? For example, for both "0" and "1", the entire rightmost column is made up of white marbles, meaning that switching from "0" to "1" doesn't require you to replace those marbles. The same goes for the black marbles that make up the center of the "0" If it's possible to control whether a new marble is released based on whether it's necessary should once again reduce the noise level and the speed at which the conveyors need to run.

It's a peptual machine free energy machine using cams and springs seems like it will work , I keep seeing it on my youtube but only see people from foreign country's making them , powering devices like grinders and lights. Is this really possible??? Please check it out and let me know , I see it working but thinking the draw on ta electrical devices would stop it, I'll like to see sumone with real knowledge try this!!! I coded one of these sorters for my CS degree..... some 25 years ago. We didn't use a belt, we just poured the marbles down a channel and had a flippy thing that diverted the marbles into different channels..... it could reach stupid speeds.

you could try to change only the parts of second that need to be changed, like the difference between 8 and 9 is just 1 marble, also i think a transparent motor blade on the face of the second clock will work nice and change just the one marble fast without relying on the absence of vibrations

You should sort out the silver balls. Then your kicker won't trigger every time your belt empties. (When your default is black). And I'd design the kicker as a servo-powered propeller-shaped-thingi that kicks ever 180° rotation. Besides compressed air that's the way the industry solves such tasks.

i was wondering, you already have multilane splitter (bottom part of minute clock elevator), why don't you place two-way splitter just below its end? V-shaped one, with two rows of solenoids opening either side up using sliding metal plates (thus separating marbles by color) and "stopper" holed plate above them sliding in (with either stronger solenoid or two solenoids in anti-parallel push-pull setup) to keep next row of marbles "on hold" while current one splits. Easily scalable (more rows in parallel, faster it goes) and is fairly slim per channel (solenoids are on either side of channel). 2n+1 solenoids (where n=number of "channels").
